EDBT summer school 2004 is the seventh edition of a well established and
successful series of international schools promoted by
EDBT Endowment. It is
organized every two years and has the tradition of being held in pleasant
European sites, Alghero (Italy) in 1991, Leysin (Switzerland) in 1993,
Gubbio (Italy) in 1995,
Capri (Italy) in 1997,
La Baule
(France) in 1999, and
Cargèse (France) in 2002. The 2004
edition will take place in Santa Margherita di Pula, Sardinia, September 6-10.
The school is directed to members of the database
research community (in the wide sense): primarily graduate students, PhD
students, and young researchers, but also professionals involved in R&D or in
the use of advanced database technologies. The traditional goal of the EDBT
Summer School is to give an overview of the evolution of database management
systems. The seventh EDBT School will focus on methods, tools, and
theories for XML databases.
